German Council of Science and Humanities (Wissenschaftsrat "AG Digitalisierung")

What a great invite! The German Council of Science and Humanities "Unit: Digitization" invited me to discuss the topic of digital teaching and learning in higher education. This was a great opportunity to help shape the future of digital learning in Germany. The board's questions related to research on online learning or support structures for digital teaching and learning, for example.

The German Council of Science and Humanities is the oldest scientific policy advisory body in Europe and was founded on September 5, 1957 in the Federal Republic of Germany by the federal and state governments on the basis of an administrative agreement. It advises the German federal government and the governments of the federal states on all questions relating to the content and structural development of science, research and the higher education sector. Ich hatte mich sehr gefreut, als der Wissenschaftsrat  (WR) "AG Digitalisierung" mich einlud, dass Thema Digitalisierung in Lehre und Studium zu diskutieren. Dies war eine sehr gute Möglichkeit die Zukunft von digitalem Lernen in Deutschland mitzugestalten. Fragen bezogen sich bspw. auf Forschung zu online learning oder Unterstuetzungsstrukturen fuer digitales Lehren und Lernen.

Der Wissenschaftsrat ist das älteste wissenschaftspolitische Beratungsgremium in Europa und wurde am 5. September 1957 in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland von Bund und Ländern auf der Grundlage eines Verwaltungsabkommens gegründet. Er berät die Bundesregierung und die Regierungen der Länder in allen Fragen der inhaltlichen und strukturellen Entwicklung der Wissenschaft, der Forschung und des Hochschulbereichs.
