Abstract: Cybersecurity and data security are major issues in the digital age. This project aims to augment campus cyberinfrastructure for data-intensive science applications (e.g., bioinformatics, chemistry) to improve data security, security requirements and guidelines for users. By implementing new schemes, the project creates prototypes of web-portals for data security with actual users. As part of the team, Isa Jahnke supports the project with sociotechnical integration of campus CyberInfrastructure (CI) applying new forms of usability and User Experience (UX) studies with researchers and educators. Altogether the work will advance the knowledge for a CI engineer on how to manage current practices of manual co-ordination of policies to find security alignment in workflow management across federated resources. Training materials will be developed to help student education within classrooms and to help users to customize their workflows. This project set the foundation to prepare for a new form of work in data security such as Learning Engineers and UX researchers.
