Springer book series for Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) - Call for Book proposals

01/10/2017

The Springer book series for Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) publishes monographs and edited volumes that advance the academic study and design of technologies and support collaborative learning --- learning that involves socially distributed activity, tasks, or cognition and culture. This includes 'collaborative learning' in its broadest sense; ranging from two individuals performing a task together during a short period of time, to massively distributed online courses. The series also concerns a broad diversity of computational tools used in and for learning, for example, emergent technologies such as wearables, mobile devices support peer interaction, text-based discussion forums for large group interaction, and other innovative forms of human centered designs for learning with technologies in collaborative contexts. The series welcomes topics in formal and informal learning, as well as computational issues such as models, algorithms or architectures which support innovative functions relevant to CSCL systems. The series draws from the broad diversity of methodological perspectives in the learning sciences, from user experience design, human-computer interaction and information sciences research, to psychology, sociological and anthropological studies, to computational and analytical approaches from data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and complex systems research. Books can be primarily theoretical, empirical, or explanatory/practical. Innovative formats are welcomed, but should demonstrate a clear match between the proposed book and a broad, international, interdisciplinary audience.Proposals for books in the series should be discussed with one of the series editors in preparation for a formal prospectus to be submitted to
